February 2025 - A Schoolgirl's War
We were enthralled by Mary Smith's description of life of schoolgirls during WWII, when they often had to retreat to the underground shelters to continue their lessons, and even eat their lunch.
The talk was accompanied by wonderfully detailed paintings and sketches from the Scrapbook of the Art Teacher Helen Keen.
