Air Ambulance - June 2020

Air Ambulance #4.jpg

Kelvin Bossey described the work of the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Service, which provides 24/7 support to our region, saving lives in trauma accidents, and also transporting patients between hospitals.  Each helicopter has a crew of two pilots, plus an experienced A&E doctor and paramedic on board.  They carry blood and plasma, and are able to treat the patient in the comfort of the helicopter.

Surprisingly, they get very little financial support from the NHS, and are reliant on fund raising to continue their service.  Like all charities, they are struggling for funds, so Kelvin finished with a plea for support.
